About Course
14th September 2023 Zoom 2pm – 4pm
This seminar will examine the practice and procedure when parents, living separately, are seeking orders from the court in relation to dependent children. The seminar will focus on the different types of applications made for and on behalf of dependent children when the parties cannot agree.
First, it will take a practical look at applications such as custody, guardianship, access and maintenance and the procedure for getting matters listed before the different courts. The importance of the voice of the child and best interests’ principle in family law matters involving children will be discussed, as the seminar looks at how a judge decides between the competing interests of the parties.
